2019-20 American Religions in a Global Context Proseminar Schedule Now Available

The 2019–20 American Religions in a Global Context Proseminar syllabus is here! This year’s special guests include: 

Joel Cabrita, author of The People’s Zion: Southern Africa, the United States, and a Transatlantic Faith-Healing Movement (Oct 2)

Terence Keel, author of Divine Variations: How Christian Thought Became Racial Science (Dec 4)

Anthony Petro, author of After the Wrath of God: AIDS, Sexuality, and American Religion (Jan 8)

Emily Suzanne Clark, author of A Luminous Brotherhood: Afro-Creole Spiritualism in Nineteenth-Century New Orleans (June 3 — tentative)

The Proseminar will be held 3 times per quarter, from 11:30 am to 1:20 pm on Wednesdays (see syllabus for specific dates). Lunch will be served.
